Carter Lumber, a Kent, Ohio-based dealer, acquired Canton, Ohio, dealer DSD Builders Supply, the company announced on Feb. 1. Carter Lumber, ranked No. 11 in the latest ProSales 100 listing, said it plans to operate the location under its Holmes Lumber brand. The asset purchase included DSD Builders Supply’s inventory, rolling stock, and equipment.
“Carter Lumber has always positioned itself to take advantage of opportunities in the markets we serve,” said Jeff Donley, COO of Carter Lumber. “By making this investment, we continue to strengthen our market position as one of the premier building material suppliers in the country.”
Holmes Lumber, which has been a part of Carter Lumber since 2004, currently operates facilities in Millersburg and Sugarcreek, Ohio. Key DSD Builders Supply employees, including former manager Mike Kiefer, were retained.
