Builders’ General Supply Company acquired Washington, N.J.-based Direct Millwork. The company will now become a subsidiary of Little Silver, N.J.-based Builders’ General Supply.

Direct Millwork’s range of products include interior doors, molding, windows, exterior doors, hardware, and specialty products. The company’s primary delivery area is central and northern New Jersey and the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. The acquisition expands the delivery footprint for Builders’ General Supply Company. Prior to the deal, Builders’ General primarily offered delivery service to Monmouth, Ocean, and Middlesex counties in New Jersey and State Island in New York.

“This opportunity is a definite ‘win-win’ for both Direct Millwork and Builders General Supply and offers significant growth opportunities,” Builders’ General Supply president Phillip Shaheen said in a news release. “Direct Millwork’s millwork and door shop operations will compliment Builders General Supply’s millwork and door shop operations in its Freehold branch location, and also expand Direct Millwork and Builders General Supply’s customer base and market while also providing a broader offering of products to Direct Millwork’s existing customers.”

Family-owned Builders’ General Supply Company was founded by the Sheehan family in 1931 and is currently run by the fourth generation of the family. In addition to the newly acquired Direct Millwork location, Builders’ General also operates four full-service lumberyards with retail stores and two design centers across central New Jersey. The company serves developers, customer and spec homebuilders, general contractors, commercial builders, remodelers, and homeowners.
