Bethel Mills Lumber acquired the assets of Fogg’s Hardware and Building Supply and Oakes Brothers. The two deals add four locations to Bethel Mills’ presence in Vermont, which is where the company is based.

Fogg’s has been serving Vermont’s Greater Upper Valley region with building materials, paint, and hardware since 1976. The company operates three locations in Norwich, Vt., Fairlee, Vt., and Woodsville, N.H. Fogg’s president Skip Fogg said the company has begun working with Bethel Mills’ management team to ensure a smooth transition for employees, customers, and vendors.

“The addition of these three locations fits in well with our strategic plan to expand our service territory and better serve our customers in the valley and the territories farther north,” Lang Durfee, president and owner of Bethel Mills, said in a public statement.

Family-owned Oakes Brothers has provided the greater Bradford area in Vermont with building materials, paint, and hardware since 1973.

Both deals are expected to close in April. Terms of the deals were not publicly disclosed. Bethel Mills, founded in 1781, operates nine locations in Vermont and New Hampshire and operates under the brand names Central Supplies Ace, Brandon Lumber & Millwork, Hancock Building Supply, and Britton’s Lumber & Hardware.
