Beacon Roofing Supply announced today it has taken over two branches in Albuquerque, N.M., and Oklahoma City that were owned by an unnamed distributor of commercial building products. It also announced it has hired that distributor's North Texas commercial roofing and waterproofing sales staff.
With the additions, Peabody, Mass.-based Beacon--the fifth-largest LBM operation in the United States--says it has expanded to 171 branches in 36 states, including New Mexico for the first time.
On Aug. 7, Beacon report its net income for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 fell 5.9% to $17.2 million compared to a net income of $18.3 million the year before. Sales declined 9.9% to $463.6 million.
