Alexander Lumber announced today it's heading into Iowa for the first time with its acquisition of Nagle Lumber of Iowa City. The Nagle yard will operate under the Alexander Lumber name.
“Alexander Lumber has been looking for high quality companies that will allow us to grow, while at the same time diversify our business outside of the Illinois economy that has been our traditional base of business,” Russ Kathrein, president and CEO of Alexander Lumber, said in a news release. “Iowa City is a dynamic market, and the Nagle Lumber team is comprised of high caliber and enthusiastic people who will fit right into the Alexander Lumber culture.”
Co-owner Jeff Maske, who will stay with the new company in a leadership role, said Alexander's investment “in our team, our equipment and future facilities will ensure that we remain the primary supplier to builders and project consumers in the Iowa City market.”
