US LBM placed another bet on Florida today when it announced its acquisition of CEMEX USA's gypsum drywall business. CEMEX's 16 Florida stores and one Alabama location (see map below) will become part of US LBM's Rosen Materials subsidiary.
The CEMEX USA Gypsum Supply Division distributes drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceiling products, and related goods. "This transaction will ensure the Gypsum Division team's continued success with our customers, employees, and vendors for years to come," Bobby White, general manager of the division, said in US LBM's announcement.
Adding CEMEX USA's operations will nearly double the size of Rosen Materials, which is based in Sunrise, Fla., and has 19 locations across Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Illinois, and Nevada. US LBM acquired Rosen Materials in April.
Today's news comes less than one week after US LBM acquired LouMac Distributors, a Fort Myers, Fla.-based provider of new and replacement windows and doors. And US LBM also owns Jones Lumber based in Boca Raton and Coastal Roofing Supply based in Clearwater.
