Two Wisconsin-based businesses, Zuern Building Products and Drexel Building Supply, have been named a Top Workplace in Southeast Wisconsin by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Zuern Building Products was ranked 42nd among small businesses, defined as companies with 149 employees or fewer. 2020 marks the second consecutive year the Allenton, Wis.-based dealer earned a spot on the Top Workplace list.
“We could not be more honored to have a team that has acknowledged Zuern for The Top Workplace Award again this year!” Zuern Building Products co-owner Jennifer Zuern wrote in a public letter to the Zuern team on the company website. “As I reflect on this gratitude, I see individuals that come together every day as a team. This team, more than ever, exudes excitement for success, a determination to continue improving, a resilience to adapt to that which we cannot control, and most importantly care and concern for each other.”
Family-owned Zuern Building Products began operations in 1953 when the Zuern family purchased Weis Lumber in Allenton, Wis., and renamed it Allenton Lumber and Fuel. The company ranked 81st on the 2020 ProSales 100, generating $67.5 million in sales in 2019.
