The Hungarian American Coalition commissioned a team of carpenters from Hungary to build a traditional dance hall and tower for use in the Smithsonian Folklife Festival held in Washington, D.C., in June and July. They looked to Tart Lumber in Sterling, Va., for their facility and help securing materials.
We paid Tart a visit to learn more about the project and see the team at work. Then, we checked in on the crew assembling the pavilion and tower on the National Mall, just a few blocks from our parent company's offices in Washington, D.C.
