An 84 Lumber store in Vandalia, Ohio was significantly damaged, last week, after a slew of tornadoes ripped through Ohio and Indiana on Monday night and Tuesday morning. The 84 Lumber store is “pretty much gone,” according to Vandalia Communications Manager Rich Hopkins, in a Dayton Daily News article. No casualties were reported at the store, as it was closed for the evening when the storm hit. The store and at least 30 homes in Vandalia, a suburb of Dayton, Ohio, were damaged or destroyed, the local newspaper reported.

An 84 Lumber representative told ProSales magazine via email, "Our Dayton, OH, store was damaged when a strong tornado struck the region the night of May 27. We’re incredibly thankful that no associates were present when the storm hit. The store is currently shipping to builder customers but has not yet reopened to the public. We’re continuing to assess the damage and take the necessary steps to get operations back to full capacity."

84 Lumber ranked No. 4 on the 2019 ProSales 100 list, with $3.86 billion in revenue last year. The majority of its revenue (95%) comes from pro customers.
