Dubuque, Iowa-based Spahn & Rose named Mike Erickson as the dealer’s new regional sales director. Erickson joins the company with more than three decades of experience in the building materials industry.

Erickson began working in a lumberyard as a teenager and has served in numerous roles, including as a forklift driver, a lumber loader, a truck driver, a dispatcher, an outside sales representative, an assistant manager, and a general manager. In the regional sales director role for Spahn & Rose, Erickson will be responsible for driving sales to stores and assisting general managers and outside sales representatives as they work to boost sales, according to the dealer. Erickson will work with Spahn & Rose’s Iowa locations in Cresco, Decorah, Dyersville, Edgewood, Independence, Jesup, Monticello, Reinbeck, Waverly, and West Union. The regional sales director manager will also help increase the contractor and builder business for stores in Byron, Ill., Pearl City, Ill., Stockton, Ill., Warren, Ill., and Prairie Du Chien, Wis.

“Even with all the technology and Amazon, people still buy from people,” Erickson said in a news release. “I firmly believe in treating customers the way I want to be treated, following through and doing what I say I’m going to do.”

Spahn & Rose was founded in 1904 and operates 24 retail lumber and building material stores in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Spahn & Rose ranked 53rd on the 2020 ProSales 100 list, generating $126.9 in sales in 2019.
