The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) elected its new leadership team, which includes new chair Mark Zemrowski, vice chair Frank Addiego, and treasurer Sandy Zelka.
Zemrowski, chief operating officer of Indiana-based Von Tobel, will replace outgoing chair Jim Bishop, owner of Vesta Lee Lumber in Kansas.
“The lumber and building material industry has been a big part of my life since I was 15 years old, and I’ve been lucky to watch the industry grow and rise up through the ranks here at Von Tobel and become a leader not only in my company but in my industry,” Zemrowski said in a prepared statement. “I am grateful that the board of directors has chosen me to be the next chair of the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association and I am thankful for the mentorship given to me by fellow officers. I am looking forward to serving the NLBMDA and carrying out the many exciting initiatives we have lined up to grow the association.”
Zemrowski has served as the chief operating officer at Von Tobel since 2002. The company operates four locations in northwestern Indiana.
“Mark is a strong leader and advocate for NLBMDA and the entire lumber and building material industry. I look forward to working alongside Mark and continuing to advance the mission of the association of advancing the Federal legislative, code, and regulatory interests of the industry,” NLBMDA president and CEO Jonathan Paine said. “I also want to recognize and thank Jim Bishop for his outstanding leadership and dedication as chair of NLBMDA these past two years. Jim’s leadership helped navigate the association through some difficult challenges, especially coming out of the pandemic.”
In addition to Zemrowski, the additional NLBMDA officers include:
- Vice chair: Frank Addiego, president of All Bay Mill & Lumber Company
- Immediate past chair: Jim Bishop, owner of Vesta Lee Lumber Company
- Treasurer: Sandy Zelka, chief financial officer of Curtis Lumber Company
