McCoy’s Building Supply announced the promotion of Manny Gonzalez to the role of regional manager, overseeing eight stores in Texas’s Rio Grande Valley. The promotion of Gonzalez follows the retirement of regional manager Leroy Garza after 40 years at McCoy’s.

“I’m so excited for Manny to take on this new role,” Ron Van Winkle, vice president of operations for McCoy’s, said in a prepared statement. “He has done a tremendous job growing the business in Pharr and leading his team for many years. I know he will be a great mentor for our stores.”

Gonzalez started his career with McCoy’s nearly 33 years ago as a yard crew member in Pharr, Texas. He joined the company’s management development program and served as assistant manager at several stores in the Rio Grande Valley. He was promoted to store manager following stints as assistant manager and most recently was the store manager in Pharr, Texas, a role he served in since 2001.

“I’m excited to help mentor our teams, allowing them to grow personally and professionally while building strong customer relationships along the way,” Gonzalez said. “My goal is to create service consistency throughout our region, giving our customers the best experience in the industry.”

San Marcos, Texas-based McCoy’s Building Supply operates 85 stores, three distribution centers, and two millwork facilities in three states.
