At a time when builders are fighting for work, Lampert Yards is aiding its best clients by tying its own good name to theirs.
On Jan. 24, the St. Paul, Minn.-based dealer, ranked No. 28 on last year’s ProSales 100, launched its Lampert Lumber Professional Builder program. Contractors certified by the program get an endorsement from Lamperts stating that they are in good credit standing with the dealer, have professional references from both subs and homeowners, hold a current builder’s license, can provide current proof of worker’s compensation and liability insurance, derive principal income from the construction industry, manage a website, and buy at least $100,000 from Lamperts annually.
Accepted builders will be provided with a certification logo to use on their website. The certifications are also posted on the Lamperts website and the builders get customized marketing opportunities from the dealer—all measures meant to help contractors in the program win more work.
Lamperts unveiled the new program to consumers a few weeks ago during the Minneapolis Home and Garden Show. Jane Fesler, Lamperts’ Twin Cities division manager, says the company plans to have at least 25 builders in the program by the end of March. It is open to all Lamperts builder customers who do business with the company’s branches in Apple Valley, Lake Elmo, North Branch, and Rockford, Minn.
