Kuiken Brothers opened a new residential and commercial building materials location in Newark, N.J., according to a news release from the company. The location marks the ninth location for the Fairlawn, N.J.-based dealer. The dealer said the Newark location’s connectivity with road, rail, and waterfront access will help Kuiken Brothers better service its expanding marketplace in the New Jersey/New York metro region.
“For many years, we have supplied a wide range of residential and commercial projects in Essex, Hudson, and Union Counties,” Doug Kuiken, president of Kuiken Brothers, said in a public statement. “The Newark Distribution Center will provide us with even greater access, allow for faster delivery into these growing markets, and will open up opportunities for new relationships to be established with building professionals in the region, including Staten Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and coastal New Jersey markets.”
The Newark facility will have delivery capabilities including flatbeds, tractor trailers, moffett, and 4-, 6-, and 8-story boom trucks. The 10-acre Newark facility features covered storage, including a drive-through warehouse with eight loading docks, an automated racking system, and exterior covered racking.
Founded in 1912, Kuiken Brothers serves builders, remodelers, developers, and property owners by supplying residential and commercial building materials. The company has more than 300 employees across its nine locations.
