Kuiken Brothers, the nine-unit dealer based in Fair Lawn, N.J., is showing no signs of rust and the weak housing market.

The dealer revealed that it has broken ground on a new 12-acre location in Succasunna, N.J. Located adjacent to Kuiken Brothers' existing 6,000 square-foot KB Concepts Window, Kitchen and Millwork showroom, the facility will be accessible from numerous major thoroughfares in the area, the company said.

Additionally, Kuiken Brothers said the yard will be convenient for builders and contractors in Morris, Essex, Sussex, Warren and Union counties as a one-stop location.

"When the Succasunna lumberyard is completed, the 12-acre complex will be a state-of-the-art facility...that will be built the way a modern lumberyard should be," Doug Kuiken, president of Kuiken Brothers, said in a prepared statement.

Kuiken added that the facility will include rail service-service that has been inactive for more than a decade. "Rail service also allows us to purchase lumber materials direct from the lumber mills, which ensures consistent quality and keeps our cost down, enabling us to pass the savings on to our customers."

Kuiken Brothers ranked 41st on the 2008 ProSales 100 with sales of $129.8 million in 2007. Established in 1912, the dealer operates eight locations in New Jersey along with a yard in Warwick, N.Y.
