Kodiak Building Partners and Jenkins Lumber and Hardware formed Jenkins Drywall and Insulation (JDI), a greenfield drywall and insulation distribution operation based in Etna, Wyo. Kodiak director of corporate development and real estate Clint Carter and president of Jenkins Lumber Dave Jenkins identified the opportunity in the “unique market” and “knew that the existing Jenkins customer base would be thrilled to source more product from a trusted supplier,” according to a news release.
“Due to the weather and geography of this particular market, JDI will be the most accessible and convenient supplier of drywall, insulation, and related materials within 80 miles,” Carter said.
JDI will be housed in 10,000 square feet of warehouse space with a 1,000 square foot showroom. Dan Wall will manage the company and Beau Hayes, president of Jones Heartz, will oversee the operation, according to a press release.
“While JDI is a standalone operation, it will easily enjoy the benefit of the trusted and well-respected Jenkins name,” Steve Swinney, CEO of Kodiak Building Partners, said. “Building professionals in the Western Wyoming Star Valley and Jackson area have been loyal to the Jenkins legacy for 45 years. This new formation shall serve them for many decades to come.”
