Kodiak Building Partners announced leadership changes at four companies in the Kodiak family of businesses. The specialty dealer appointed new presidents at AO Door, Direct Lumber and Door, American Builders Supply, and Arizona Wholesale Supply. Kodiak CEO Steve Swinney said the appointments reflect the company’s “commitment to continued talent management and development strategies.”
Linda Hawkins was appointed president of Dallas, Texas-based AO Door. Hawkins has been with the company since 2009 and she has helped grow market share and profitability for the brand, according to Kodiak. Most recently, Hawkins served as the vice president of operations for the company.
Michael Severa was named president of Direct Lumber and Door in Colorado. Kodiak said Severa has been a “significant contributor” to the brand since its conception. The previous president of the company, Tom Kostelecky, has transitioned to the role of senior vice president of business development for Kodiak Building Partners.
Kodiak also announced Cliff Shimer was promoted to the role of president of Florida-based American Builders Supply. Kodiak said Shimer’s skills in building relationships, sales, and profitability will benefit American Builders Supply and company’s people-first approach. Mark Garboski, the previous president of American Builders Supply, will now serve as the president of Kodiak’s production LBM platform, overseeing American Builders Supply, Direct Lumber and Door, Christensen Lumber, and Premier Building Supply.
In the final leadership announcement, Michele Garrett joined the Kodiak team as president of Arizona Wholesale Supply. Bill Parks, who preceded Garrett as president of Arizona Wholesale Supply, has semi-retired and will serve Kodiak’s interiors group as an industry ambassador, according to the specialty dealer.
Highland Ranch, Co.-based Kodiak Building Partners operates 81 locations across Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Texas, Nebraska, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. The specialty dealer services general contractors, homebuilders, subcontractors, remodelers, and DIYers. Kodiak ranked 11th on the 2020 ProSales 100, generating $1.26 billion in sales in 2019.
