- American Builders Supply, Sarasota, Fla., added Shaun J. Heelan as chief financial officer and Mark Garboski as vice president of operations. Garboski is a former vice president at ProBuild and 84 Lumber. Heelan spent three years as CFO of two separate divisions of HD Supply. The company also appointed former ProBuild exec Ben Phillips to its board of directors.
- Bob Daniels, president of Chelsea (Mich.) Lumber, died Sept. 1. He was 83.
- Hermann Lumber, New Haven, Mo., plans to celebrate its 90th birthday with a two-day celebration this weekend hosted by its fourth-generation Baumstark family owners.
- Walmart picked Mechanicsburg, Pa.-based West Shore Window & Door to open a home design center in one of its local stores as part of a new small-business pilot program developed by the retail giant.
- Robert Lawrence Craft, past executive vice president of the Indiana Lumber and Builders’ Supply Association, died Sept. 23. He was 94.
- The Northwestern Lumber Association added Stephen McCarron of McCarron’s Building Center in Forest Lake, Minn., to its board of directors as a representative from the state of Minnesota.
- Frank Miller Lumber, Union City, Ind., hired Mark Hoffman as vice president of sales.
