• HIVE 50 CATEGORY: BUILDING TECHNOLOGY

BMC has been selected by Hanley Wood as one of this year’s HIVE 50 Honorees, drawn from the top people, products and processes that are leading the charge to inspire creativity, higher performance, and innovation in housing. Hanley Wood is the parent company of PROSALES and organizer of the HIVE event, which took place Dec. 6-7 in Los Angeles.

The Ready-Frame system cuts down on jobsite waste, labor needs, and energy expenses by creating a whole framing package from an existing home plan, guaranteed exact to 1/16 inch. The process uses BIM software to determine a project’s lumber and framing needs and to identify potential architectural errors before they occur in the field. The framing is precut, labeled, and delivered to the jobsite. Assembly is up to 20% faster than traditional stick-frame construction, the firm says, and fewer on-site cuts mean a safer, more efficient build, while reduced waste translates into reduced disposal fees. The precut framing packages require less labor and supervision on the jobsite, too.

“The future of housing is being created through inspired innovation,” said Peter Goldstone, CEO of Hanley Wood. “The HIVE 50 honorees are examples of true innovation that comes from collaboration and a connection to the best of thought leadership in other industries. We are honored to highlight the contributions of these innovators at HIVE and look forward to seeing what they create in the future.”
