84 Lumber opened a new door shop in Dallas, Texas, serving the surrounding Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The 60,000 square foot facility currently employs 18 associates and 84 Lumber plans to grow the show to 45 associates. The dealer plans to add a Kval F4 interior door line to the shop in 2021.

“We’re excited to better serve our builders in the Dallas market by tripling our capacity through this new door shop,” 84 Lumber area manager Nick Boyd said in a news release. “84 Lumber has been investing in the Western division over the last several years, and we look forward to continued growth in our area throughout 2021.”

The Dallas opening continues a pattern of expansion in 2020 and planned expansion into 2021. The dealer opened a truss plant in Mansfield, Ohio, in August and a door and engineered wood products center in Greenville, S.C., in June. The dealer plans to open an already constructed store in Dayton, Ohio and a component plant in Richmond, Va., is currently under construction. 84 Lumber also plans to expand into Stockton, Calif., Boise, Idaho, and Detroit, Mich., and open additional truss plants in central Florida and Charlotte, N.C.

Eighty Four, Pa.-based 84 Lumber is moving forward with plans to open new stores in Stockton, Calif., Boise, Idaho, and Detroit, Mich. 84 Lumber was the fourth largest company on the 2020 ProSales 100. The dealer operates nearly 250 stores, component manufacturing plants, custom door shops, custom millwork shops, and engineered wood product centers in more than 30 states.
