84 Lumber awarded Rachel Wolfe, payroll manager, with the Business Excellence Award and Nathan Kiger, an IT service desk analyst, with the Rising Star Award, at its 2024 midyear team headquarters awards.

The dealer awards both dealers biannually following a nomination process for associates at the 84 Lumber headquarters. The company’s leadership team then carefully selects the award winners based on the nominations.

The Business Excellence Award acknowledges an associate who has exhibited exemplary leadership, accomplishments, professional growth, and contributions to 84 Lumber. Wolfe joined the company in March 2015 and was promoted to her position as payroll manager in January 2020.

“Rachel is the epitome of a servant leader and does not let anything prevent her team from getting payroll processed for over 7,000 associates bi-weekly and 1,000 associates weekly,” Angela Seaborn, senior director of human resources operations. “She leads by example and will come in as early as 5 a.m. and has stayed as late as 7 p.m. to make sure payroll gets processed on time. Her exceptional dedication and expertise in managing payroll have not only streamlined many processes but also contributed significantly to the overall success of our team.”

The Rising Star Award winner, Nathan Kiger, joined the company in February 2023 as a Level 1 Support Analyst and has since been promoted to his current role. According to 84 Lumber, his leadership skills are apparent in his proactive approach to managing diverse challenges within his domain.

“When Nate recognizes his peers working through a challenging situation, he frequently jumps in to offer his help,” Lou Daddea, senior manager of IT support and operations at 84 Lumber.
