For the first time, the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) is joining forces with the North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA) to present this year's Legislative Conference and Green Building Forum, March 16-18 in Washington. Make your voice heard on Capitol Hill by joining your colleagues for this important event.
As advocates of the building material industry, both groups are coming together to ensure building material dealers, distributors, manufacturers, and suppliers increase the industry's influence in Washington. A joint meeting also lets both groups gain an enhanced understanding of the dealer and distributor partnership in green building, and to network with one another.
All of the players in the housing industry need to ensure that the housing market is at the top of the agenda for the Obama administration. During the Legislative Conference, we encourage dealers and distributors from the same home state to visit members of Congress together via planned appointments.
There will be no housing recovery without change, and the voice of the industry must be heard. Together, NLBMDA and NBMDA will have increased influence over the building material industry in Washington, and this event ensures that both groups have the opportunity to voice issues and concerns on Capitol Hill.
On the morning of March 17, the Green Building Forum will provide a platform that identifies initiatives and information to effectively serve the green building industry. NBMDA and NLBMDA members are increasingly participating in the green building movement as they respond to the growing interest in environmentally friendly building materials. Attendees of this forum will gain a better understanding of the green building movement and what it takes to be a successful participant. They'll hear from leading representatives of national green building organizations and receive the latest updates on standards development, and will explore the dealer-distributor partnership for successful participation in the movement.
Also during the conference, there will be networking receptions for attendees to meet new business associates and catch up with old ones. It is an exclusive opportunity for distributors to build sales relationships with dealers, and for dealers to gain information from key distributors in this challenging economy. Members of Congress and their key staff members are also invited to attend the March 17 evening reception.
We look forward to seeing you at the conference. To register and for more details, please visit www.dealer.org.
