Origin Materials, an Ontario-based tech startup, believes sawdust could solve the world’s plastic pollution problem, Bloomberg reports. The company is planning to pay local sawmills for the scraps left over in the process of turning logs into lumber and will use the sawdust to make recyclable plastic bottles. The bottles would remove carbon dioxide from the sky because they’re made from sustainably sourced wood waste, according to Origin Materials.
