Construction workers are more likely to use drugs such as opioids, cocaine and marijuana than workers in other professions, research by the Center for Drug Use and HIV/HCV Research at NYU College of Global Public Health finds. The hazards in the industy, including falls and injuries from overextension, result in a high injury rate and the high likelihood of treatment and self-medication of drugs such as marijuana or opioids.
