Median wages in construction increased by 3.5% year over year (YOY), outpacing the 2.5% YOY growth for the national median wages. According to data from 2018 Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics Survey and analysis by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), half of payroll worked in construction earn more than $47,290 and the top 25% make at least $66,290, both much higher figures than the national economy. Median wages in specialty trades increased at a much higher rate than the median wage in the overall construction industry.
