Construction employment rebounded after its significant losses in April by adding 464,000 jobs in May. Despite the spike in employment during May, the total industry employment remained 596,000 below February's numbers, the most recent peak in government data. The industry's unemployment rate of 12.7% was the highest May rate for construction since 2012, according to an analysis of government data by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).
