Construction Employment Increases in 34 States and Washington, D.C., in 2019

Construction employment increased in 34 states and Washington, D.C., in the 2019 calendar year, according to an analysis of government data by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). The full-year, 12-month increase is a step down from year-over-year increases reported in the months preceding December. Thirty-eight states and Washington, D.C. added construction jobs between November 2018 and November 2019 and 41 states and Washington, D.C., added construction jobs between between October 2018 and October 2019.
