Conifex Timber is indefinitely curtailing operations at its El Dorado sawmill in Arkansas. The company said lumber prices were too modest to justify continued operations at its El Dorado plant and the curtailment is expected to reduce Conifex’s U.S. South lumber production by approximately 21 million board feet. Conifex announced a two-week curtailment of its Mackenzie, British Columbia sawmill in July and sold its Fort St. James mill in British Columbia to Hampton Lumber in June.
