CertainTeed Corp. named Tom Smith as president of its roofing products group and Mark Rayfield as president of its siding products group, the company announced today. Both took over their positions on Sept. 1.
"Tom and Mark have remarkable track records at CertainTeed and its parent company, Saint-Gobain, respectively, bringing decades of expertise and proven leadership in effective management, innovation and sustainability," said CertainTeed president John Crowe.
Smith will oversee the company's commercial and residential roofing division as well as its solar business. He has been with CertainTeed since 1999 and has been with the company's Siding Products Group since 2005, being promoted to president of the group in October 2005. He succeeds Guillaume Texier, who recently was promoted to president of Saint-Gobain's global ceramics group.
Rayfield previously served as vice president and general manager of Saint-Gobain's North American abrasives unit. He too joined the company in 1999. He will oversee the company's vinyl, fiber cement, and polymer shake siding, fence, raiding, deck, and cellular PVC trim product lines.
