Saint-Gobain, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed, has started production at its newest North American production site. The facility, located in Quakertown, Pa., is the company’s first STONEfacade plant. The plant will increase CertainTeed’s STONEfacade capacity tenfold, according to a news release.

STONEfacade is a stone veneer system, made with concrete, that can be quickly installed without any special equipment or masonry skills, according to the company. The system uses screw-in panels, is entirely mortar-free, and comes equipped with an integrated rainscreen to manage moisture and create a higher performing wall system. STONEfacade also features one-piece alternating corners for a realistic appearance.

“We’re excited to bring our new STONEfacade products to more customers around the country, and we’re proud to add another American factory to our manufacturing portfolio,” Joe Bondi, vice president and general manager of CertainTeed Sidings product group, said in a prepared statement. “Our STONEfacade products allow siding contractors to offer more solutions to their clients, while ultimately saving installation time and costs without compromising on aesthetics. Our new plant in Quakertown will help our customers capitalize on this innovative product and ride the wave of increased demand for stone siding products.”

The STONEfacade stone veneer system comes in several different color palettes, painted by hand on each individual panel, that can be coordinated with a variety of CertainTeed siding and roofing colors.
