Canfor Corporation is imposing an indefinite curtailment at its Mackenzie sawmill and permanently eliminating a shift at its Isle Pierre sawmill, the Prince George Citizen reports. Insufficient timber supply is to blame for the reduction of shifts at the Isle Pierre facility. Canfor previously announced it was significantly curtailing operations at all of its British Columbia sawmills, except its WynnWood operations, in June due to poor lumber markets.
