The BC Lumber Trade Council issued a statement in support of the decision by the NAFTA Panel that Canadian lumber imports did not hurt the U.S. industry, Canadian Forest Industries reports. The panel sent the case back to the U.S. International Trade Commission for a new determination regarding lumber imports, stating the U.S. lumber industry is not undermined by imports from Canada. The BC Lumber Trade Council, representing lumber producers in British Columbia, expressed gratification in the panel’s decision.
