ABC Supply entered an agreement to acquire Herman’s Supply Company, marking further expansion into Canada and the distributor’s entrance into the Ontario market.
Herman’s Supply Company was founded in St. Catharines, Ontario, in 1969 and has expanded to open 11 branches across Ontario. The company also added a 12th location in West Seneca, N.Y., which serves the Buffalo market.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed and ABC Supply said the deal was expected to close on April 8.
“Herman’s Supply Company’s commitment to unparalleled service has earned it generations of loyal customers,” ABC Supply chief operating officer Mike Jost said in a prepared statement. “We look forward to welcoming their dedicated associates to our ABC Supply family and continuing to build a legacy of exceptional support across Ontario.”
The West Seneca location in New York will become part of ABC Supply’s U.S. operations, while the Ontario locations will operate as part of the ABC Supply Canadian division.
ABC Supply has increased its efforts to expand in Canada recently, acquiring British Columbia-based All Canadian Building Products in late March. The distributor first entered Canada in 2022 with the acquisition of the Monarch Group of Companies.
Beloit, Wis.-based ABC Supply operates more than 970 locations across the United States and Canada.
