84 Lumber is opening its first truss plant in the state of South Carolina, just outside of Columbia. The plant, which will provide trusses and wall panels from its Lugoff, S.C., location, is tentatively slated to open in January 2024.

“We are very excited to open our first truss plant in the state of South Carolina,” Ken Kucera, vice president of installed sales and manufacturing at 84 Lumber. “This is a prime location for us, being in the center of the state, as it enables us to supply multiple locations in the Carolinas and parts of Georgia. We are confident we will see great success upon the opening of this plant.”

84 Lumber has been supplying builders in the region with building materials since 1991. In 2007, the dealer’s branch was relocated to its current location in Lexington, S.C. In 2022, the store’s door production team was relocated to a standalone facility in Columbia.

Eighty Four, Pa.-based 84 Lumber operates 310 facilities, which include 234 stores, 14 component manufacturing plants, 28 engineered wood product centers, and 34 door shops, in 33 states.
