84 Lumber has honored four employees at its annual banquet recognizing associates for 2023 performance. The dealer awarded the following employees: Dan Jones as manager of the year; Dave Fisher as area manager of the year; Brennen Byers as manufacturing manager of the year; Andrew Boyd as rookie of the year.
“Each year, I excitedly anticipate recognizing the associates who surpass expectations, contributing to the thriving success of our company,” CEO Maggie Hardy said. “Their remarkable dedication has been instrumental in our journey thus far, and I feel privileged to work with such motivated and talented individuals.”
Jones is a multiple time manager of the year award winner of his 34 years with the company.
“The numbers are great, those are the measurables,” Jones said. “The immeasurables are the people, so when you find some of the most qualified young individuals we have within our company, we have to put them in positions where they gain experience and get the quality at-bats to grow themselves. The company has been good to me, it’s time to make sure the company is taken care of in the long run.”
Fisher began his career with 84 Lumber as a manager trainee and worked his way up to the role of area manager, a position he has held for 14 years.
Byers began his career with 84 Lumber over eight years ago as a manager trainee in Georgetown, Ky. He currently serves as the manager of the 84 Lumber door shop in Dallas.
Boyd began with 84 Lumber in field operations and traveled to stores across the country where he learned to improve operations and sales management in various markets. He has since been promoted to the role of operations manager.
“Every move must be profound,” said Boyd. “Learning the key components has helped set a great foundation for the future of my career in the building industry. At 24 years old, I feel I will be able to have a big impact in years to come.”
