84 Lumber has appointed Pete Cantu as its new area manager in the Western division.
“Pete’s dedication to 84 Lumber, his commitment to quality and customer service, and overall approach with our associates are just some of the qualities that make him perfect for this role,” divisional vice president of the Western division Jorge Espinoza, said in a prepared statement.
Cantu began working with 84 Lumber in 2003 as a store manager in Lubbock, Texas. In 2008, Cantu and his team were awarded the Western division sales award and Cantu was named the 2016 manager of the year for the dealer. His team in Texas was once again awarded the Western division sales award in 2019.
“Being able to lead our Lubbock store into success has been a great opportunity, but this next chapter of my career with 84 Lumber is one I’m looking forward to,” Cantu said.
In the role of area manager, Cantu will be overseeing a Denver lumber yard and store, a lumber yard in Grand Junction, Co., and a lumber yard in Boise, Idaho. Cantu will also oversee the upcoming truss and engineered wood product centers in Fort Collins and Fort Lupton and a lumber yard in Greeley, Co.
Eighty Four, Pa.-based 84 Lumber operates more than 310 facilities, including stores, component manufacturing plants, custom door shops, and engineered wood product centers, in 35 states.
