Stock's Roster of Closures Grow, as Does Talk of Deals

Stock Building Supply is shutting operations in Idaho and Utah, its only Montana facility, its last dozen posts in Minnesota and Wisconsin and yards in the mid-Atlantic, Stock spokespeople and employees have confirmed. It also is believed to be holding discussions to sell operations in Illinois, Indiana and Connecticut, as well as some of the western and mid-Atlantic facilities it is shutting. The reports bring to more than 60 the number of locations and operations targeted for closure since America's No. 2 LBM operation got a new 51% owner on May 5 and filed the next day for Chapter 11 bankruptcy law protection. More
