Bradco Supply announced today it has acquired Carlson Distributors Inc., a roofing, siding, windows, and doors distributor based in Rockford, Ill. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Carlson has served the Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin market since 1947. The company will change its name to Bradco. Tom Healy, a 14-year Bradco veteran, will manage the branch, while the Carlson staff will stay on to work for Bradco.
"Because the Carlson family operated under much the same philosophy of superior customer service and knowledgeable staff, the Carlson business was a perfect match for Bradco," Martin Segal, vice president of acquisitions for Bradco, said in a news release.
Adding Carlson "reinforces Bradco's commitment to the Illinois marketplace, following on the heels of our recent opening on South Barrington Road in Wauconda," Segal added.
This marks Bradco's fourth acquisition in 2009. The Avenel, N.J.-based company operates 130 locations in 30 states and is the seventh-largest company on the 2009 ProSales 100 with total 2008 sales of $1.7 billion.
This year Bradco also opened new branches in LaMarque and El Paso, Texas; Morrow, Ga.; and Denver.
