Stock Building Supply Holdingsannounced today it plans to expand nationally its Coleman Floor business unit and that it hired former HD Supply executive Steve Wilson to serve as the installed sales unit's director.
"Wilson will have responsibility for the national expansion of the division, which offers professional home builders a full range of installed flooring products," Stock said in a news release. Coleman Floor currently consists of three branches, with one each serving the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Cary), Triad (Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem) and Charlotte markets.
"I am excited about leading the Coleman Floor division as we embark on national growth with full commitment and investment from Stock," Wilson said. "It is our goal to rapidly expand the Coleman business in 2010 and 2011 to better serve our customers."
The news release didn't say where Coleman Floor would expand. Stock currently serves 20 markets nationwide, including the three where Coleman Floor already operates.
Before joining Stock, Wilson was district manager for HD Supply's Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets. He also has management consulting experience with Booz Allen Hamilton, PRTM Consulting and Deloitte Consulting.
"Steve's depth of knowledge and experience in the building materials industry, his general business and commercial acumen and his proven leadership skills make him ideally suited to drive the growth of this key business unit at Stock," said Joe Appelmann, Stock's chief executive officer.
