ProBuild, the nation's largest pro dealer, has named former Building Materials Holding Corp. executive Michael Mahre as its new senior vice president of corporate development.
In his new position, Mahre will be responsible for strategy, business development, and acquisitions, ProBuild said in a statement issued this morning.
Mahre was previously CEO of Select Build, the construction services arm of BMHC, now BMC Select. He left BMHC in May 2008 (see story) and has worked much of the time since then for Devonshire Investors, the owner of ProBuild. Prior to BMC Select, Mahre was in the investment banking, private equity, and real estate finance industries.
"Michael is a strong addition to our senior management team," said ProBuild CEO Paul Hylbert. "His combination of business experience both inside and outside of our industry will provide a unique perspective as we move forward with our strategic initiatives for 2010."
Based in Denver, ProBuild operates more than 470 lumber and building product distribution, manufacturing, and assembly centers serving 42 U.S. states. ProBuild ranked first on the most recent ProSales 100 with total 2008 sales of $4.4 billion.
