The Jeld-Wen Inc. board of directors elected Robert Turner, the company's vice chairman, executive vice president, and chief operating officer, as chairman of the board, Jeld-Wen announced.

Bob Turner Turner succeeds Richard L. Wendt, who will remain on the board.

"We all have tremendous respect for Bob," Jeld-Wen president and CEO Rod Wendt said in a statement issued April 7. "He's been with Jeld-Wen for 39 years and has proven to be a bold, forward-thinking leader."

Jeld-Wen makes a markets windows as well as interior, exterior and garage doors. It is based in Klamath Falls, Ore.
