The Independent Builders Supply Association (IBSA) named Tim Johnson president and CEO of the Smithfield, N.C.-based co-op effective May. 11.
Johnson succeeds Ray Price, who died in March. Johnson has worked in the building materials industry for 20 years, the past eight of them at IBSA. He had served as vice president of business development before becoming interim CEO at Price's death.
"We are very pleased with the progress of IBSA and the guidance Tim has provided during the last three months since Ray's passing," IBSA board chairman William Bullock wrote in a May 12 memo to members. "He has an intricate knowledge of the workings of our association and the leadership skills necessary to guide our group into the future. Tim has the full support of the board of directors and the membership can expect a continued smooth transition as we move forward."
