Schaffer Associates, a Charlotte, N.C.-based executive recruiting company, announced today that it hired Bill Tucker, the former president of the Florida Building Material Association (FBMA). Tucker retired from FBMA in January after almost 20 years with the association.
“When I retired from FBMA, I knew I wanted to do something different, but within the building supply industry,” said Tucker, who will be an account executive with the firm. “Working with the industry’s leading executive recruiting firm provides an opportunity to work with and assist people I know and like.”
Tucker joined FBMA in 1992 to manage the Florida Wood Council and in 1999 was named president of the association. Schaffer Associates serves a wide range of companies, including those within the building supply industry.
“His decision to retire from FBMA provided us with an opportunity to acquire a team member who understands the building supply industry and knows people throughout North America,” said Jim Schaffer, chairman of Schaffer Associates. “We couldn’t be happier or more excited.”
