Epicor Software Corp. named Pervez Qureshi as president and CEO on Monday. The announcement came a week after the merger of Epicor Software and Activant Solutions, both providers of business software solutions, was officially completed.

Qureshi served as president and CEO of Activant Solutions from 2006 through the merger, which was completed after both companies were purchased by fund advised by Apax Partners. Qureshi has more than 20 years of management experience in the business software solutions industry.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to lead our newly combined company through its next phase of growth, and build on the momentum of market leadership, innovation and a customer-focused culture that is our shared heritage," said Qureshi. "Above all, I look forward to working with an immensely talented team of over 4,000 employees to deliver even greater value to the customers and markets we serve--from manufacturing, distribution and services, to hardgoods and softgoods retailing."

The company also named Kathy Crusco as executive vice president and CFO. Crusco joined Activant in May 2007 and brings more than 20 years of experience in financial roles at various companies.

Former Epicor chairman, president, and CEO George Klaus will remain as chairman of the new company.

Epicor is a global provider of business software solutions, with more than 40 years experience in serving mid-market and large companies. Activant, prior to the merger, was a well known business software solution provider to many LBM dealers from both small dealers to larger operations.
