Beacon Roofing Supply promoted Paul M. Isabella to the title of president and chief executive officer position effective Jan. 1, the No. 3 company on the ProSales 100announced Dec. 8. Isabella currently is president and chief operating officer.
Current chairman and CEO Robert R. Buck will stay on as chairman following the change.
Isabella joined the Peabody, Mass.-based company in November 2007 after spending 33 years working in a number of executive positions for various corporations, including General Electric, Stanley Works, and Eastman Kodak.
Along with Isabella, the company promoted other executives to new roles, also effective on Jan. 1 also. David R. Grace was promoted to executive vice president and will continue to serve as chief financial officer. James I. MacKimm and Patrick Murphy were promoted to executive vice president. Both men had been named senior vice presidents in 2008. C. Munroe Best III and Kent Gardner were promoted to senior vice president titles.
Beacon Roofing Supply distributes roofing materials and complementary building products, operating 179 branches in 37 states in the United States and three provinces in eastern Canada. On Nov. 29, the company reported that its net income fell 11.4% in the company's fiscal fourth quarter ended Sept. 30 on a 1.1% drop in sales to $482.6 million. The latest results meant net income for the fiscal year shrank 34.1% to $34.5 million on an 7.2% drop in sales to $1.61 billion.
