The nation’s largest pro-oriented construction supply firms saw sales rise 10.2% in 2015 from their year-earlier performance to reach $41.74 billion, while they increased the number of facilities by 9.7% and grew payrolls by 10.5%, the latest ProSales 100 survey shows.
Equally notable is how different this year’s list is from the previous one. Four of the top 12 firms and nine out of 100 on last year’s list are missing this time because of mergers and acquisitions in 2015. And because most of the acquiring companies are in the top 10 of the ProSales 100, those 10 firms’ share of the overall market grew dramatically last year.
