Curb appeal played a big role in this year's product introductions: New siding products are out in force. Engineered siding has come into its own, with many manufacturers offering proprietary blends. These products combine two desirable features: attractive aesthetics and low maintenance. The big trend in roofing this year is a speedy install that doesn’t compromise quality. These new shingles were designed with long-term use in mind, and accordingly come with longer warranties to keep homeowners happy.

Tapco Group’s Grayne Engineered Shake & Shingle showcases the appearance of real cedar without the maintenance demands. Sharply defined edges and grain patterns create realistic depth and shadows. Available in six colors, the durable shingles are finished with a weather-resistant cap to resist moisture absorption. Shingles are covered under a 50-year manufacturing and 5-year labor limited warranty.

Boral Composites has expanded its TruExterior siding collection with a new bevel profile for a more contemporary style. TruExterior poly-ash siding is resistant to moisture, maintains a high level of dimensional stability, and doesn’t require any edge-sealing. The bevel profile replicates the look of cedar and redwood with authentic taper and shadow lines, and is currently available in a 6-inch nominal width, with 8- and 10-inch nominal widths coming soon.

Novik’s new ledge corner for its NovikStone Dry Stack allows for a natural transition from stone to siding material, with the authentic appearance of stonework at a lower cost. This ledge corner works for both inside and outside corner applications or for use under windows, and matches Novik’s existing Dry Stack products. The product also utilizes Novik’s universal locking system, which lets installers lock the piece in place before nailing.

Gerard Roofing’s Canyon Shake Shingle is designed for speedy installation without sacrificing looks. The shingles have straighter hips, rakes, and valleys to reduce bending and complex cuts. Canyon Shake tiles are available in five standard colors. The company offers with a lifetime warranty on surface coating, a 120 mph wind warranty, and a 2.5-inch hail warranty.

Azek’s new reinforced polymer composite siding combines integrated water management with attractive aesthetics, high durability, and an ultra-light weigh. Three prefinished colors are available. The matte finish gives the appearance of rough-cut cedar and its premium-grade composition reduces the need for painting and sealing. Azek’s siding is available as 12-foot boards and doesn’t need additional installers, clips, special tools, or blades.
