Size Matters: The store opened in April 2012 and saw 10,000 daily visitors for the first few days. The pace has slowed, says company president Howard Miller, giving the business a chance to hone its customer service to maximize returns on its bigger footprint.

One of the store's biggest attractions is a 1,850-squarefoot ranch house (Right) fitted mostly with American-made products. It sits in the middle of the store.

Managing Foot Traffic: The store's six entrances, a carryover from the old location, let customers park near the department that they want to shop.

Hitting Home: Four home facades in common local architectural styles line the back wall, hiding a two-story design center that features designers' offices and 16 kitchen and bath modules.
