  • Quebec City announces plans for a 13 storey wood tower, to be the tallest of its kind in North America. Forests Ontario and the Nature Conservancy of Canada also announced the discovery of the tallest tree in Ontario, standing 154 feet tall.

  • George Pattee, CEO and chairman of Parksite, a building material distributor with eight locations, was recently elected to  the National Association of Wholesalers (NAW) board to serve a seven-year term.
  • ABC Supply was again awarded the Gallup Great Workplace Award. This is the ninth consecutive award for the distributor.
  • Capital Lumber will distribute two lines of Wolf deckboards in the greater Portland area and across central Oregon.
  • Gypsum Management and Supply (GMS) launched a new, redesigned website.

  • The Mid-State Lumber location in Warwick, N.Y. suffered a fire that lasted between the evening of April 2 and the morning of April 3.

  • Miramichi Lumber will repair and rebuild those portions of its Miramichi, New Brunswick, sawmill damaged by a Jan. 6 fire.

  • West Fraser appointed James Gorman as its Vice-President of corporate and government relations.
  • MFM Building Products reached an agreement with Camferdam Management Company to represent MFM in the state of Arkansas and Michael Scott Enterprises to represent MFM in the state of Mississippi.
  • DW Distribution contracted MetroWest Reload facility near Fort Worth, Texas, to aid with distribution in that area.
