The Lumber Association of California & Nevada (LACN) announced today that is rebranding itself as the West Coast Lumber & Building Material Association after the new name was approved by the California Secretary of State's Business Services Division.
The association's Board of Directors authorized the name change last April after extensive member input. The association felt the LACN brand name was too limiting as it now has members in 19 states and several Canadian provinces.
The transition to the new name will occur over the coming months. The name change was the only action taken as all lines of communications and addresses will remain the same.
The LACN was originally formed in 1996 after the merger of the Lumber Association of Southern California and the Lumber Merchants Association.
